On this tour we'll travel from the oldest cheese company in California to one of the newest. We'll start things off at Marin French Cheese Company. Founded in 1865, Marin French is the oldest continuously operating cheese factory in the United States. During the Gold Rush, a simple, fresh cheese—later named Breakfast Cheese was shipped from the port of Petaluma to San Francisco as a substitute for eggs which were in short supply. Today it's one of many award-winning artisan cheeses produced by Marin French Cheese.

The Lafranchi family established their namesake dairy in 1919, but Nicasio Valley Cheese Company only began making their farmstead cheeses two years ago. Today they create organic cheese in the style of their Italian-Swiss ancestors.

Devil's Gulch Ranch in Nicasio grows premium grapes and raises rabbits, pigs, sheep and quail. Mark Pasternak will welcome us to his ranch with a tour of the land, lunch made with ingredients harvested from the ranch, and a tasting of local wines. Join us for a devilishly good day!

Tour Price: $145
