Kurt Beecher Dammeier
Kurt’s love of great cheese and passion for pure, all-natural foods drove him to create Beecher’s Handmade Cheese in 2003. Located in the heart of the Pike Place Market, Beecher’s has received numerous awards and medals of excellence from cheese competitions world wide, including the World Cheese Awards in London and the American Cheese Society. Most recently, Beecher’s 4-year aged Flagship cheese won 1st place at the American Cheese Society Competition in Austin, TX.

Beecher’s Handmade Cheese is part of the Sugar Mountain family of businesses, including Pasta & Co, Bennett’s Pure Food Bistro and Maximus / Minimus. With Kurt at the helm, Sugar Mountain’s mission is to change the way America eats. In the fall of 2004, Kurt established the non-profit Flagship Foundation to help educate people about the benefits of wholesome nutrition. The Program is funded by the ongoing donation of 1% of all sales from Sugar Mountain businesses.
